Call for Full Papers

Alanya University is pleased to announce the 11th International Geoinformatics Days (IGD 2026), which will be held fully online on 16–17 December 2026.

IGD 2026 will bring together researchers, academicians, graduate students, engineers, planners, government representatives, industry professionals and technology developers working in geoinformatics, geomatics engineering, remote sensing, geographic information systems, surveying, photogrammetry, spatial planning, Earth observation and related disciplines.

The symposium provides an international scientific platform for presenting original research, exchanging technical knowledge, introducing innovative geospatial technologies and developing interdisciplinary and institutional collaborations.

Researchers are invited to submit their original full papers addressing the conference themes and related areas of geoinformation science and technology.

About International Geoinformatics Days

International Geoinformatics Days is an interdisciplinary scientific symposium dedicated to the collection, processing, analysis, visualization, management and practical application of geospatial information.

The scientific initiative began at the Department of Geomatics Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Mersin University, in 2020 under the title Intercontinental Geoinformation Days. The first seven editions created an international platform for scholars working in geomatics, remote sensing, GIS, photogrammetry, surveying and Earth observation.

In 2025, the event held at the University of Tehran adopted the title 10th International Geoinformatics Days. IGD 2026 follows the numbering adopted by the 2025 conference and expands the scientific scope of the symposium under the international coordination and hosting of Alanya University.

Objectives of IGD 2026

IGD 2026 aims to:

  • Promote international scientific cooperation in geoinformatics and geomatics engineering.
  • Present innovative theories, methods, technologies and applications involving geospatial information.
  • Encourage cooperation among universities, public authorities, professional organizations and industry.
  • Support interdisciplinary research combining geospatial technologies with engineering, planning, environmental sciences and artificial intelligence.
  • Provide early-career researchers and graduate students with an international platform for presenting their studies.
  • Facilitate the exchange of knowledge concerning sustainable development, disaster resilience, climate change and smart-city applications.

Submission Guidelines

  1. Only original and previously unpublished manuscripts should be submitted.
  2. Papers must be written in clear academic English.
  3. Authors must prepare their manuscripts using the official IGD 2026 full-paper template.
  4. Abstract-only submissions will not be considered. Authors must submit a complete full paper.
  5. Manuscripts must clearly present the research purpose, methodology, results, discussion and conclusions.
  6. All figures, maps, photographs and tables must be clear, numbered and properly cited in the text.
  7. Authors are responsible for securing permission to reproduce copyrighted material.
  8. References must follow the citation and reference style specified in the official paper template.
  9. Each manuscript will undergo a scientific review before an acceptance decision is issued.
  10. Authors may be requested to revise their papers in accordance with reviewers’ and editors’ comments.
  11. At least one author of each accepted paper must complete registration and deliver the online presentation.
  12. Papers that are accepted but not presented during the symposium may be excluded from the final proceedings.
  13. Submission of a manuscript confirms that all listed authors have approved the paper and agree to its submission and publication.
  14. Manuscripts containing plagiarism, fabricated data, duplicate publication or serious ethical violations will be rejected.
  15. Papers must be submitted exclusively through the official IGD 2026 online submission system. Email submissions will not be accepted.

 

Review and Acceptance Process

Submitted papers will be evaluated according to:

  • Clarity of the research purpose
  • Appropriateness of the methodology
  • Reliability of the results
  • Quality of the discussion and conclusions
  • Academic writing and organization
  • Quality of figures, maps and tables
  • Compliance with the official paper template

Acceptance decisions may include:

Final acceptance is conditional upon completing all required revisions, registration and online presentation.

All accepted and presented full papers will be published in the official IGD 2026 Conference Proceedings.

The proceedings publication is intended to include:

Selected high-quality papers may also be invited to submit substantially extended versions for possible publication in collaborating academic journals or edited books. Any extended manuscript will be subject to the scope, editorial policies and independent peer-review procedures of the relevant publication.

An invitation to submit an extended version does not guarantee journal or book acceptance.

 

Online Presentation Information

IGD 2026 will be conducted fully online through Zoom.

  • Presentations will be organized in parallel scientific sessions.
  • Each accepted paper will be assigned to an appropriate thematic session.
  • The presentation schedule will be published in the final conference program.
  • Presenters must join their assigned Zoom room before the beginning of their session.
  • Authors should prepare a clear PowerPoint or PDF presentation.
  • Presentation and discussion times will be specified in the final program.
  • Participants are responsible for ensuring a reliable internet connection, functioning microphone and suitable presentation device.
  • The final program, Zoom links and access information will be sent to registered participants approximately one week before the symposium.
  • Digital certificates will be issued following confirmation of participation and presentation.

Registration is required for all presenting authors and participants.

Registration information, applicable fees, payment procedures and deadlines will be announced through the official IGD 2026 website. At least one author of each accepted paper must register for the paper to be included in the final program and proceedings.
